They fit because the JZA80 and JZZ30 were exactly the same frame. I doubt that they'd fit the Aristo unless you were really lucky. I do hate the Aristo seats - Soarer = much better side support.

I was wondering this a while back when i wanted to keep my trimmed front Supra seats for the Aristo.. Cause i sold the Supra with a stock interior...
I think Aaron said it probably wouldn't fit.. Will see if i can dig up the old thread off the Supra Forums..

Edit - can't find it.. but would be interesting to see someone try Smile

You can make anything fit - it's just a question of time and money Smiley

yeah had a bit of a look at dads the other day, the aristo bolts to the drive tunnel, like most 4 doors, but the supra bolts all to the floor. so would probably need the aristo rails swapped onto the mk4 seat for it to be able to fit. i think i'll leave it for now. how has other people fitted aftermarket seats to their aristos? made custom rails?

My uncle is a foreman for Land Transport Safety in NZ. Apparently if your vehicle is equipped with air bags, it must retain the original seats as the air bags are calibrated for it.

Has to do with your bodies impact point towards the air bag. a different seat will change that.

P.S. I'm putting stock Aristo seats in my crappy VLOL wagon.

I don't need side support in my boat. haha

i was contemplating buckets but now that i have coilovers im no way in hell going to get them. im now thinkin about getting the stockers redone with more side support. and since you can deflate the back of the stock seat anyway ill do that and with the side support it'll kinda be like a bucket with less backache at night Very Happy

Bringing this one back from the dead to see if anyone has a definitive answer for me.

I've just bought some Recaros for the JZS147, so I want to try everything before paying £400 for Bride rails. Is that the only option, or do I need custom rails?

i have seen them USS auction sites with the bucket seats etc. so it is possible, As you know you probably just need a rail that will fit...
