Im not certain but im pretty sure the series 1 has pins and the series 2 does not, im sure someone will confirm. Bet way to get it of it to peel off the badge and then clean up the residue left over with some prepsol or something of the like.
thanks mate
yeah ive read a hair dryer and fishing line is the way to go, but yeah im just trying to figure out if it will be pind or not
i think its a series 1
I've removed badges from one of my cars, and I think the best way to do it is to use fishing line. No it wont help you with pins (just work around them), but i've found if you're careful, you can cut thru most of the sticky stuff that holds the badge on, with no damage to the paint. (well, on my car anyway ) Once you've seperated most of the badge, it shouldn't be too much trouble to just pull the badge off, pins and all. _________________

Just remember that once you get it off too that the paint underneath will be no where near as faded as the rest - You will still be able to see the outline of it anyway..

I too can confirm that factory has pins. To fix up the holes you really should weld them up, but at a pinch you can fill them in before priming/topcoating. Dont blame me if they poke through though. I would not take the badge off and leave the holes exposed, or you bootlid will fill up with water next time it rains. A good buffing will get rid of the colour difference.
If you really want to keep the car nice i sugest taking both the Toyota and 3.0 badge off, take the bootlid off and take it to a panel shop. They will sand it back, weld up the holes and they should be able to do a pretty good paint match as they will have room to blend out. Should probably charge you $400 max for the whole job (the welding might make it slightly more expensive). What colour is your car? And where are you located?
the car is black, lol
and im on the sunshine coast QLD
i dare say eventually i will have to resprayte whole car, as there is a few imperfections, but thats later down the track, 1st thing i have to do is get the bloody thing running!!!!!
wheres BMWTurbo when you need him, might have to fly him up, lol
so we all sure it will have pins then, damn
yeah i will take the toyota one off aswell, took it off the front grill, big hole there now, lol, might put it back on
and 2 simple questions, not up for discus just want 1 word answers, lol
1) best comp for aristo
2) best place to tune it in brisbane
please no discussion, just a answer, will try and keep the thread on topic
