I have decided to take my aristo off the road for a while in order to upgrade the gearbox and do a single turbo conversion. It runs out of rego in a few weeks and I cant afford to pay rego on 2 cars. I was just wondering what I would have to check to make sure it will pass blue slip when its done and ready to go back on the road. The only significant mods on the car at the moment are coilovers, rims, front mount and tranny cooler.
do it before 3mths and only pay for a pinky.......in nsw all those mods you listed will need an engineers report if your blue slip guy is a tool they should let you pass by with those simple mods _________________

yeah LOL will be a nightmare to rego if you go single turbo etc - blue slips arent an easy pass like a pinky.. pink is just roadworthy - bluey is ADR - meaning car must be as it was released from factory!

Damn, I was hoping that I wouldnt need an engineers report. As fair as I know all of the blue slippers where I live are tools, so there is little chance that it will get passed. Maybe Ill have to find a way to keep it rego'd so I dont have to get a bluey.
jusyt give the guy a 200 p im sure it pass a bluey......i do know few guys that do blue slip unseen only need rego papers/vin and couple of hundie _________________

dodgey blueys are becoming a thing of the past... keep the car rego'd and save some hassles or just get it engineered!!
i skipped my last 3 cars from getting engineered but the fear of insurance not paying out in event of a crash etc etc - my new lexus/aristo will be getting engineered... same deal big single etc
you really only have to pass height, exhaust db and emissions! the rest is basics - no gauges on dash, sub box bolted down, not stupid size rims etc etc etc

yeah rta always did the emissions test - the IM240 test either in Botany or penrith - as long as tuner has a 5 gas analyzer you should be sweet cause you can see what specs your car yr model should be at!! get it tuned to that and you'll pass heaps of tricks, run extra cats, high flow cats are fukn useless , a couple stock ve commo cats will help etc the newer the car the stricter the emissions etc, we are sweet with our early 90's barges lol

also make sure you have no exhaust leaks or oil leaks as its not just exhaust fumes its total fumes from the whole car - a ciggie smoking in the ashtray will add to it lol
i tripped out the other day when i noticed my ashtray was lined with black velvet though LOL WTF!!
only last few yrs rta has done the testing.........i had my car on stands when i got my engineers report lol the good old days _________________

best bet is to keep car rego'd and to collect every part needed for what you want to do then just attack it! at most will be 2-4weeks off the road.
curious - what turbo and box you throwing at it? and what ecu?

Yeah, looks like ill have to put the rego back on it. Ill get a pinky for it after its been out of rego for 2 months, that way i can save up some coin to get the rego before the 3 month period expires.

curious - what turbo and box you throwing at it? and what ecu?
Looking at a gt35r or equiv. turbo, standard box with 2k stally and 1.5 shift kit, piggy back ECU (no idea which one im going to go yet, still doing research). Engine and gearbox will be coming out, so while its all out all the necessary servicing will be done inc valve seals, belts etc.
I bought a pulsar for 800 bucks with 12 months rego to get me around till the aristo is done, then it will be my daily, so i wont be going for massive power.
