I have done a bit of research on this and there are cheaper scanners around now.
The OBDII stuff came out in vehicles from 1996. It is an American standard so there are still Euro and Japanese cars post 1996 that use their own system if the car was not sold in the states from what I have read.
The good scanners have adaptors that will work on the Aristo .
The 2 plugs that the Aristo uses is simply called ELC2 and ELC3.

My mate has something like that. We hooked it up and he could see I had hit boost cut at some stage and there was an error with the main fuse. Was so handy _________________
so is there a specific plug to buy? i wanted to get obd2 bluetooth it to an android tablet and use torque to see al the gauges, anyone done this or similar?

you can convert supras to obd II without much drama, you could prob convert the aristo to obd II with too much hassle...use a 161 ecu, change a couple bits over...think the main things was an o2 simulator... _________________
