mine was designed to fit the innovate lc1 gauge, so i took my digital calipers and modelled off that, your gauges might be .5mm larger/smaller which will change the tolerances, if u want a print, youll have to give me exact measurements, i can change the model from there. the gauge pod doesnt have a stop for the gauges, so you set your own depth and just a couple of dabs of hot glue hold it in place, there wasnt enough space to have a stop integrated, although i did model one with it, _________________
using sketchup for the modelling, exporting .stl file and then chucking it into my slicer which converts it into a .x3g file, which is what the printer accepts.
not a fan of sketchup, but dont do enough modelling to learn solidworks, even though i have it installed, and blender is way too complicated. _________________

its the same way a CNC works, it takes g-code.

hmmmm i'm thinking about buying a printer. I started drafting 6 months ago so i believe i have enough basic skills to produce some good stuff. Might install solidworks over the holidays and have a play
u really have to consider wat u need, i bought a dual extruder printer, the 2nd extruder ive used 3 times in the 2 years ive had, just adds heaps of weight to the gantry. Dont buy an up mini, they are a pain in the ass, tiny build platform, hard to print in pla and has its own proprietary software, cant use any other software with it at all.
its good fun, when u iron out the bugs, and u can get good consistent prints, once u learn all the ins and outs, troubleshooting is pretty easy!
theres quite a few cheap good printers out there, check out the 2016 3d printer guide.

looking a 2k+ for that. I dont know of any other 3d printer with that sorta build volume that is inside the realm of diyers/home printing.
if i need to print anything bigger than my printers bed, i make it 2piece, then design to connect them, clips, locking pins, interlocks with pins, i used tessellating shapes and pins when i made a new airbox lower.
i printed new speaker adapters for the aristo door speaker pods, and my starlet too, worked awesome, super rigid too (but that comes down to user-customizable settings) was gna make some up for my mates mx5 se (the turbo ones) but he decided he cbf and got a shop to do it all. _________________

Looks good mate!
Got a Da Vinci 1.0a on the way should be here tomorrow! Can't wait ordered a few spools instead of their proprietary cartridge just have to flash some custom firmware and 3D print a spool holder and i'm good to go
i got my brother in perth to send me my new garrett t04z...with auspost...got to chullora depot (which is about 10mins from me) and then i checked online update and it said returning to sender - unknown address.
called up auspost, said are you sure address was correct, blah blah blah, we cant redirect it, we cant stop it, its already on its way back to perth (3hrs after an attempted delivery) brother lodged an enquiry, same deal cant do anything about it..blah blah blah
he hammered them on fb a bit, he got a call from them, went through some bs, the address was CORRECT, obviously they are just idiots, and its still on its way back to Perth, they cant stop it apparently.
so has to travel BACK to PERTH, THEN AGAIN BACK TO SYDNEY.
and then, i called fedex today to find out where my new manifold is (landed in aus yesterday and was cleared by 11am)(this big single build is under wraps so shhhh!) and they are like we've handed it over to auspost for final delivery....WTF
so ive got $3400 of turbo stuff with auspost, in the hands of a driver that knows nothing of this address...if my manifold is sent back to America.....
additionally, this guy is gna keep getting packages for an address he doesnt think exists...must be thinking, these guys are idiots, this place doesnt exist....
funny thing is, if id known he was attempting the delivery, i would have seen him from my balcony...my balcony overlooks the no.30 part of the building (letterbox is at 46, its one building though)
so close, yet now so far..
and ive also got a gimbal with auspost...cant track it at all... _________________

Haha pretty sure i can almost top this with another bad experience with E-GO exact same gear tho. Turbo/Manifold/Gate/BOV all in one package....
Items sent from townsville and took the following path
Townsville -> Brisbane -> Newcastle -> Sydney..... It was at this point they lost my package
Fast forward 3.... i repeat 3 FUCKING WEEKS LATER after thinking they had like 5k worth of gear.
It show's up in Adelaide but oh wait it gets better (I don't live in Adelaide) the package then went from Adelaide -> Melbourne THEN BACK TO FUCKING SYDNEY!
Needless to say after multiple profanities they sent a private driver to Benalla while the truck was heading back towards Melbourne and then hand delivered it to me in Shepparton.
its a simple task, take this box, and deliver it over here...
I sat outside awaiting the star track contractor today...i spoke to him, he was on leave, and his first day back was today...makes sense, his replacement driver had no idea wat he was doing, or where he was going, and, the driver agreed that it should have gone to the local post office whilst the issue was resolved...real competent hey...
so my manifold should be here tomorrow, but ill prob be waiting another fortnight for my turbo. coz once return to sender was announced, it cant be changed, or redirected...even though the address was/is correct. fukwits.
