Headlights with orange indicators and clear?

This might sound stupid but i have noticed that some Aristos headlights are orange near the indicator and others are clear, or am i just going crazy? Or it goes clear when the headlights are in direct light?

Or Toyota changed it as the years went on?

They were always amber from the factory. Companies in Japan sell the complete units with the clear indicators, or as an exchange service.

My car has these, I have not cracked them open to see what they do.

you can rip your lights apart ( http://www.planetsoarer.com/headlight/headlight.htm or http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/headlights/index.html ) and pull the orange plastic out. Otherwise you could probly smash it all into little peices through the bulb hole in the back, which is what i did to my old starlet.

And PLEASE put orange bulbs in there once you do this!! I get pissed off when I see cars with clear taillights (even factory cars like VX commodores) that the indicators flash clear, because some stooge didn't put in colored lights either because they didn't know or they cost a couple $$ more.
