Hey guys!

Im looking at buying an aristo in the coming months, and ask i work for a performance parts place (www.vpw.com.au) i want to get a few things in for them that i know we wont have.

Main one is the air filter! We do a brand called JR Filters and they dont have a listing for any of the aristos or soarers etc.

Can anyone help me with the measurements of the filter so i can order a few in. Will be a good cheap alternative for a stock replacement one (i.e. oiled, re useable, high performance panel filter for around $75!)

From what i can find, the supra runs a strange cone looking filter, but the photos ive seen of the aristo, it seems to be more a square panel.

If anyone could let me know that would be killer.

ta

i got an old filter that i can part with, where u located? you'd probably get more accurate measurements.

Aristo share the same airfilter as the SUPRA TT (JZA80), if thats in your listing you will able to use that.

The Aristo don't not share the same air filter as the supra. Supra share the same as JZX100 chaser (I had a JZX100 before the Aristo). You can get the K&N once from the GS300 sold in the USA. Order one from Autobarn and it takes about 12 weeks. Or get a trust one from Japan but they are not reusable.

I was just about to say that. Someone on this forum (manual?) was saying that the Aristo filter is around 10% bigger in surface area than the Supra filter.

and from what ive seen it looks to be different shape too fro the supra one, the k&n site lists a cone looking one, but the aristo seems to be a square panel.

If you could just measure the one you have teknoboi that would be killer.

I basically only need the outside dimensions (i.e. the length and width from lip to lip (total outside, not from the stepped down bit))

We are in melbourne.

I thought the Supra also had a panel filter as standard, but it was more squarish, compared to ours, which is more rectangular. Although, I am unsure about that. Aaron should be able to answer this, after all, he owns or has owned both of them. Dunno if he gets his hands dirty changing filters though... Poke

I remember when I changed my supra one it was a panel/rectangle kinda filter...
havent seen an Aristo one yet to compare them though

edit - but then again i had an NA supra.. so dunno if the GE and the GTE were much different in terms of filters!

If you had a standard airbox, your compliance bill should have the part number of the air filter they changed. I would post mine up but it's at home Sad

There is a westfil/ryco that fits right in (and the dimensions should be on the ryco site?).

i have the ryco 2006/2007 catalogue and it does not list an air filter for the soarer 'import 1jz' or the supra 'import 2jz' at all, otherwise i could just match it off that.

If anyone has the ryco part number that fits then i can use that to get the dimensions i need also.

I have been told by someone else that the supra air filter is a square panel also, not that cone shaped one, so im puzzled, as the jr filters website and the k&n website both list the 2jz jz80 turbo supra as using that air filter! (dont know if/why the american ones could/would be different?)

I borrowed a mates standard airbox for compliance = no cost ...

but i can confirm, that cone filter is NOT a stock filter for US / UK / JDM supra's - Turbo or Non turbo in the JZA80 series.

Found the post I was thinking of:

I've just gone through the whole painful exercise on tracking down and purchasing a stock airbox & duct (as the compliancer stole mine... it came from japan with the stock unit fitted, pricks)..... only cost me $15+ shipping though.

Did some sums and the Aristo K&N filter is approx 10% larger in surface area than the 2JZGTE JZA80 k&N filter and the general consensus on the US supra forums is that the stock JZA80 airbox will never need to be replaced with stock twins (& higher flowing panel insert).

I will be re-fitting mine with a K&N panel & duct from the bottom of the box to the front bar (as well as stock over the radiator duct) for maximum cold air.... Cant wait to get rid of my shitty HKS mushroom 'filter' (of which the standard filter has more surface area anyway).

FYI the stock airfilter part number from Toyota is 1780150020 (double check though if ordering) & K&N part number is 33-2053 (again, double check).

kn33-2053
http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=33-2053

Does this look like the aristo one to everyone? I dont know what the re-inforcing parts going across it are but? Do you reckon they are necessary, as i doubt JR will make one that has them.

Outside measurements are 271x206. I can get this in JR no probs, price will be approx $65... sound good? Smile
