Ladies & Gentlemen, welcome to USS Tokyo:
What do we find in the carpark?
Ono of two bidding rooms. You can also bid remotely via the net:
Once you step outside, they hit you with the big guns straight away:
There were 7 R35 GTR's:
No Aaron you can't have one!
Some other cars of interest:
Nissan Gloria:
EVO WAGON!!
Century. Looks like 80's styling from the outside, you'd swear this was an old car:
But look inside, its a 2002 model & looks like any other late model luxo car, curtain airbags in the back, full load:
With this old favourite under the hood:
Nissan Laurel:
Class:
Even the people movers were pimped, 'Gandor Pasion Absolute':
Another thing we miss out on here:
Just in case you were wondering.....
Weird Toyota, JZX110 chassis I believe with V6, possibly have just gotten compliance here?
Was looking at a few Supra's to see what the prices were like, first up a late model in blue:
Then an earlier one that had a some real goodies, front bar, exhaust, strut braces, full TRD dash:
Then out jumped this beauty. June 96 model, so got the updated taillights, updated headlights, but just before the VVTi engine went in. Grade 4.5 A, had only done 6,000kms!!! Still smelled like a new car, there was not a scratch on the entire car. Dead stock except for an exhaust, enquired about the price, had been passed in at 1.8mil yen, so was quite pricey:
Check these little motorbikes for sale, even they have dish!
The place was the size of show grounds or something similar. Cars as far as the eye could see. They had these shuttle buses running around you had no way you could cover enough ground otherwise. If you camped there for a few days you might get to see all of it. Interestingly I saw many a 161 but not a single 147 at the auctions, have they all been snapped up?
With the exchange rate hovering at 60ish at the time, we didn't make any purchases. The pass-in rate has gone through the roof at auction, now just need the owners to realise & lower their reserves to compensate

Or have the rate bounce back
In theory the prices should end up being around the same.
lots of people thinking oh shit im not gonna try and buy , basically means less demand meaning more cars meaning lower FOB prices.
But you know its just a theory...

ps: those 3 r35s was fair hot all lined up..
We have found this with the Japanese car parts stuff on Import Monster. Rate is worse than before, but competition on stuff has dropped right off, so we've seen some wheels recently go for less than they usually would.
The pass in rate at USS used to be 30%, it is now 50% while the market gets used to all that is happening.
On a side note, Wall St up 11% this morning, second biggest gain evah!
