is there anyone in tassie with one of these be good to meet up or something.
just got my aristo last saturday
had the suspension checked one side lower an upper ball joints where stuffed so i figure repalce all

i was told to replace the seals on brake master cylinder
and get a new nitrogen canister

is this good advice if so what else should i get checked to be sure not to have a costly
breakdown?

also i was reading some other threads i seen that you can pick up a few extra hp by getting FMIC and exuast my exaust is not standard looks to be like 3 inch right through

my question is can anyone guide me as to where i can get an FMIC

HI mad5000,

Tassie is awesome
good move on ball joints and bmc.
2 major PITA things on these cars.

Look at getting FMIC from ebay.
Manual boost T
FCD.
You may need a restrictor plate if it is truly 3" from dump onwards.

All that would probably cost you around ~$400 if that for good performance gains

Dude you seem keen enough to learn about these things which is great...but serously all the info you have requested in various parts of the site is easily available by searching the site for it.

I don't usually quote the old "Use the Search" reply but mate you have posts all over the site asking for shit that has been covered many many time before.

Spend and hour or 3 just browsing or searching and you'll find a shiteload of info on here.

No need to be sorry mate, I wasn't having a go at you. Just letting you know it's a lot quicker searching the site than waiting for replies from people..especially over a weekend.

Have a good look through the How To section...lots of good info in there Smile

first welcome mate these are ace cars. worn ball joints yea do them all they have all been over the same roads. mate why do the BMC seals when they are not leaking thats like saying you dont know what the engine is like inside so i will rebuild it. im a mechanic of 20 years i say dont touch if it is not broken. as for FMIC i have seen people losse power with the wrong E bay intercooler so be carefull. when for $ 400 you could get a good water injection kit stock turbo/intercooler is good for 360 rwhp with water injection Very Happy just my 20 years in the trade 2 cents worth

I've never heard of anyone "doin a bmc" in these cars...

They tend to get low on gas for the nitrogen-assistance, which could do with re-sealing and re-filling to the recommended pressure (more about that elsewhere - lots of work involved). But as far as the bmc failing, I've not heard of it happening?

I thought everyone did it so that it makes things easier later on, rather than because something was wrong with it ?
Nick's.. yeah i think i remember that... he was getting no symptoms of anything going wrong right? Just the code that refused to go away?

same here with a car i just sold as would throw codes as didnt leak but same symptoms as Daz's soon as we replaced the BMC all was happy with the car.

Moral is if they start throwing codes replace the bastid asap otherwise it'll never clear.
