I paid $140 each from a wrecker earlier this year. Out of a front cut. They were in excellent condition. Maybe they are getting dearer ?

they are the same as a Celsior (though which model is unkown as the early and later series has a change in bolt hole diameter).

I paid $80 for 2 second hand units in perfect condition.

If they try and charge you too much, tell them you can get them rebuilt for less than $100 each and it not worth your while for anything over $150 for the pair. Thats what i said, and it worked a treat Smile

this was a post from(dan) in another thred... if there worth 1500 new how are they only 100 second hand...???? Confused

((quote from dan) Ive just ordered left and right side lower ball joints. $140 a side from Toyota.

Now on the hunt for some second hand upper ball joints, if you go OEM, they want $1500 each side as they sell them with the control arm.

A quick word of advice... If your running low enough to be knocking your upper ball joint on the wheel arch... raise it asap and check your upper and lower joints. Or this may happen.....)

maybe toyota dont make the part anymore, so they're soo expensive because they're running out of stock since everyone replaces them???

If you look for the more common celsior part at the wreckers, they will charge you heaps less than if you are looking for the "more expensive" aristo part even though they are identical.

By the way, 2nd hand is cheaper because it will fail a hell of a lot sooner than buying new. Going by most Aristo's you'll get +10years or 100,000kms out of new ball joints. Not too bad IMO.
