most relays operate on ±10% as far as i know. The closer the voltage is to the rating, the more reliable it will be.

ok... dumb question number 1.... Razz

With the relay setup on the fuel system...

does the supraforums version of bridging the wires still have to be ASWELL?

or would i just use the relay??

someone helps! Razz

Do not use the bridging method. That is flawed in many ways. If you crash the ECU will stop the fuel pump however it will be unable to do it if you just bridge the wires.

Do the relay method..

The relay method is REALLY easy. Just take your time, measure up the wires to the correct length and be sure to solder them or use the correct joins.

OK so instead of a Green wire and a black/red stripe wire i have a green with pink dot and a fatter pink/cream wire next to it. The fuel controllers are the same part number so im assuming these wires are the same thing yeah?

I believe so, yes.

If you are not sure, you can come and have a look how I have done it mate. I have done 3 now. Dimo's, Daz's and mine.

Cheers,

Chris

OK so im still slowly draining the battery somehow. Ive pulled out the relay so if i dont drain it then i know it's definately that, but how could i slowly be draining the batt after doing this mod? Bad earth? Poor solder? Any ideas?

To drain the battery I'm guessing there must be something using constant voltage, so you may have to check the wiring to your head unit, etc if you haven't already.

Or your battery could be stuffed but I presume you would have checked this

Yeah i thought this too, this problem has only come about since i did the 12v mod. I havent touched anything else electric in the car.

I should note that overnight the car is fine to start, but give it 2-3 days of sitting around and it's low and un-startable Razz
