First thing i did was pull it out. Its useless. Much better to have the element in front of the blowerfan.

yeah i am not sure if i will keep it yet. i will have to wait till its on the road and see if it does anything,it will be an everyday car for me so thought it might keep some of my after work smell out of the car. was thinking of pulling it out and making a little box under parcel shelf for a small space sub, has anybody done that? would sound better than a free air style setup think.

It's 20 years old.. Unless you replace the scent it won't be doing much at all..

That said, I have been in a car (I forget who's sorry) who had replaced the scent packet or the purifying salt or whatever it is in it.. and I would swear I could tell when he turned it on. Most of the time it's unnoticeable, but in this one car I noticed it. So it COULD work if you sorta.. fixed it? But if the entire enterprise is worth it or not... *shrug* At the end of the day, you could just put one of those scented things on your fan vent and you'd probably get the same sorta experience hahaha

Only works if you live in a built up / factory / polluted city like Japan.

Arent worth two salts due to our environment being less polluted....Pure wank factor for us but in Japan different story.

LOL @ jamie living in the outback

Most new cars come with a 'cabin filter' which is a similar setup without this 'scent' generally an option to be fitted at the dealer, or by the customer at a later date

I Agree with rusty, Chances are you will notice a bigger difference in inside cabin smell with a scent sitting in the vents

I noticed NIL difference flicking my switch so removed my purifier and placed my torque converter lock/unlock switch there instead Razz

Nah Perth is pretty good for these things. Not the kind of place you NEED an Air Puri for that's for sure. I certainly don't miss mine Very Happy But there are probably times when a working one could be noticeable.

i used mdf n hot glue to seal the holes, an rtv would do a much better job of the sealing tho!
