I have been umming and arring about getting my rims painted black with a polished lip for a while now but I was unsure as if I should as I got them polished and machined not that long ago, but it seems that some of the chrome on them is starting to flake so that gave me more reason to do it Smile

So I went to the place to get it done today and he said that with the car being black it might make the car look too black and he suggested shadow chrome would look much nicer. Now im very unsure on what to do. He showed me his car with metallic black rims and polished lip and it looks awesome so if I go black it will be metallic.

Anyway here are the rims they look just like this

And this is what they will look like black

And my car

I cant find any pics of the rims in shadow chrome. So what do you guys/gal think would look best?

And if someone is any good at photoshop that can do it I would be forever grateful and love you forever Very Happy

Agreed

Shadow chrome is like a metalic silver, not very shiny as such.

+1 for black with polished lip....

for what its worth - in perth i paid $120 + GST per rim for them to be pulled apart - powder coated satin black, outer lip repolished, and put back together.

aww i cant vote coz i like both the chrome and the black with polished lip! your car looks great with the chromies but i recon it would also look just as good with the polished lip...perhaps less pimp and more sporty if that makes sense.

Wow thats really cheap i called heaps of powder coating places but they all said they couldent do it but thats when i was unsure if my rims where 3 piece but i now know they are, the painting is going to cost me $120 or $140 per rim but i also need to pay $20 for each rim to get sand blasted to get the chrome off so its going to be about $560-$640 all up, but if i where to sell them i guess i would get quite a good price for them so thats a good way of looking at it.

lmao @ Daz!
