I sure this question has been asked before but can't seem to find the answer when looking under the search.
But the stupid question I'm going to ask is centre taillights or stop lamps unsure which ones there are have been cut and are longer wired up? Was this a ADR issue? And is there any reason why I can't rewire them?
And are they a stop lamp or tail and stop?
Thanks guys

yes they chop the wires as part of compliance. i stripped the ends of mine and taped them up, it works, but i want to get in there with a soldering iron when i can be bothered.

they operate the same as the other rear lamps (i.e. brake and regular)

They had cut all the wires to the sockets. But the sockets are still there with the wires pocking out.
I have wired them up today and fitted some globes all fixed nice easy job only took about half hour.
Now it back how it should.

gees, just when you think the LAW is making sence, BAM, they come up with less rear lights the better!!! Confused Razz

i would have thought that the more rear lights you have the better, does anyone know the logic behind this?

It's something to do with the centre light being a brake light only, and there is a max of only 1 of them.

The centre halves of the rear lights *SOMEHOW* classify as "center" lights instead of being the inner half of the main lights. So the books say there can only be 1 centre light instead of 3, so during compliance they have to remove two of the 'center lights'.

It's farkin retarded. Just take a look at your standard VL or whatever that have the same kinda setup. Bureaucracy gone mad.

My understanding was the two inboard lights are two close together to be classed as outboard light. They come into the catagory of "center" lights, of which there can only be one. Im assuming the VL's which your talking about rusty the inboard lights are further apart.
