Hey I have a 94 tt aristo

Got pulled over day for a random breath test( so thats what they said) and done me for tinted tail lights (easy fix)

And coil overs low etc

And my rear wheels are not flush with the guard it's sitting on 10.5 rims in the rear

Any idea on what's the going rate for factory suspension??

Cheeers

are the rears proud of the guards???

factory suspension is cheap, the godfather has some fs atm cheap, but he is central coast, so will have to factor in postage..

stock suspension in an aristo is scary!!

There's a few SA owners who maybe able to help you out with factory parts to borrow or purchase.

Yep those tyres do sit well outside guards lol Might need to customize wheel well to suit.

Well as I bought the car from a yard only a few days before I got defected the police went back to the yard with me and the car yard owner has agreed to fix all defects free of charge. So far it's costing them 6k for repairs as the mechanic wants to use factory suspension brand new from Toyota :s that's more than I paid for the car lol

So how scary is the aristos factory suspension woggin? Does it make it a bit more tail happy??

You're kidding? They're going to buy new suspension for you? Suprised
Can't see that decision lasting once the boss does the figures and realises the whole enterprise is going to cost them thousands. There's nothing illegal about coilies, you just wind them up higher if you're too low.

As new I can't imagine the factory suspension is too bad? 20years old, however, it's soft and spongey and the TEMS doesn't work so damper rate is usually horrid.

There is plenty wrong with coilies in SA according to Regency Inspections and Police are concerned. they don't have a permanent locking device, the Locking rings don't count and so therefore are not ADR compliant. that simple raising the height doesn't clear the defect biggest BS thing about it all is the adjustment Rings that do lock together work and rarely if every move

Yep try explaining that to the car yard I told them I can get 2nd hand shocks etc and pass the defect but they want it done properly as the police threatened the boss at the yard about selling modified cars and if it's not fixed properly they will inspect all the cars at the yard. It's all A pain in the a$$ if u ask me cuz the coilovers will be put back in and getting a mod plate for them lol

cant imagine they will follow through with a 6k repair bill!!

the aristo i drove had 19s on it, stock shocks/springs, i almost shat myself, VERY VERY boaty, very delayed, very uncommunicative, front end started to get away from me and it was very scary! pulled her back straight, but fuk me!

20yo suspension tho...

brand spankers could be decent....

Total BS. So how can I private import a car with coilovers, pass both compliance and Road worthy certificate in Victoria. It's laughable.

good-luck with it all mate. SA atm is the worst for defects n shit very much like everywhere i suppose. Its good that the place that sold it to you is going to Fix the Car back to standard to get it over regency. For a change SAPOL doing the right thing in a way chasing up the car dealer.
If you ever need help with you car in SA, we do have The SA ARISTO club most if not all the important info is on this forum tho.

Quick update, car passed defect all new factory suspension which handles pretty well, had to throw some second hand rims on and the car yard ended up putting some genuine bbs 18s on. Dash lights and needles fixed and had to make the exhaust a little more quiet but it has helped my boost creep so it sits on 14psi all day long now

sounds like you need a boost/exhaust restrictor ring put in the dump pipe as toyota designed the dump pipe to be a boost restriction
