Hi guys my bf bought me a 94 aristo 2jzge (I'm a p plater)
We're fixing some minor things on it but unknownest to us it's a bit annoying to find spare parts in Brisbane , plus we want the best for our new car and want to maintain it properly so does anyone recommend a good engine oil and filters? How often should we service it? It's got 158000kms so probably new timing belt soon? Any advice on insurers? Also needs a new rear tailshaft coupling and power seat doesn't move backwards or forwards so is the motors/cogs/rails faulty? Where can we find these parts online or does anyone recommend a good mechanic in Brisbane?
Besides those things the cars awesome and we love it, it's stock atm except for some speakers, sub and led lights but were hoping to do some cosmetic things to make it more eyecatching and then maybe some under the hood stuff too.
Hope to hear from some people in Ipswich/Brisbane on here and go to a meet too _________________

How exactly do you find it to be of "high quality"? I ask out of interest as generally people can be a bit funny about the oils they use and I like to hear their reasoning behind it. I use Penrite oils simply because they seem to withstand some pretty harsh treatment in performance applications... Big hp and sustained high revs etc; this is based off my own experience and that of good mates of mine.
Years ago, I used to run mobil 1 in my rb30 in my vl turbo... The shit would just burn up like you wouldn't believe, I figured it was just a bit of a sad engine... Then eventually the engine was rebuilt, because I could not because it needed it... Ran it in, did comp test and the final tune... All is good nice healthy power and everything is sweet... The shit still burns massive amounts of oil. So needless to say I eventually moved to something a bit thicker and anouther brand. _________________

I should have said I find it reliable rather than high quality. I never lose oil, so its not burning up, my oil level never budges. Doesn't blacken with carbon anywhere near as fast as other brands of oil I've used either

Thanks rhetto, looks nice but close up you notice the small ugly things
The bumper has cracks,
But we have a replacement, maybe you can figure out what kind of bumper it is from this pic?
Will post pics of the engine and radiator, there's some dodgy looking intercooler not sure if it's a stock or professional job but looks crappy _________________
Oil wise u just got a experiment and see what u like, I use nylon 15-40 in my Gt starlet and my aristo.
I've used a 10-30 and felt it was too light, iam happy with what I use now, I change it every 3 odd months, it never bang on 3 months....I left the aristo for 6months, just changed it couple weeks ago...think it did 300kms in total on that oil...
I've only done 2200km in 2 years with it here in Sydney...shame really...
Anyways, welcome, looks like a decent platform u have there. _________________

Thanks woggin oh would a polish and and spray paint work because the cracks are pretty bad? My mechanic told me I would have to replace it to get it roadworthy, will I already guessed. But yeah that's how bad the cracks are. _________________

Engine bay, looks pretty standard except cables from the battery and the thing attached to the radiator
This was what I am curious about, what is it doesn't look stock standard is this some kind of intercooler?
Think the exhaust is aftermarket, 2.5" cat back
Sorry if I'm wrong about any of the details about what's in the pics this is our first import car and car project ever, will get pics of interior soon _________________

The front bar looks a little bit far gone but I've seen a lot worse brought back to looking new,the cooler looks like for the transmission, the exhuast looks good, not much to clean up on it,a little bit of tlc and she's roadworthy

Normal wear and tear, nothing serious, red button is a shift lock so u can pull it out of gear without foot on brake,I'd gear new fuse holder between battery and passenger front fender, possible fire hazard, for $10-$20 for a new fuse holder not held in by tape is money well spent ,it looks like an earth lead with a fuse tho, what's the plans for your ride

Thanks guys will look into it, think it has Hid's or something =\
On a plus note found the problem with the power seatslide, a cog in the motor
This is the culprit, I'm hoping we can buy this individual part and not buy a whole new motor because there pretty Exy, but that's wishful thinking maybe
If anyone knows somebody wrecking an aristo point me To them please
