I am currently looking at an aerotop supra which is a turbo, however am having trouble with the seller trying to ascertain whether it was a converted car or a gz as he bought it like that so I asked him for a picture of the build plate and he sent me a picture of 2 different build plates????? I also have an engine bay picture which shows them installed side by side. I have never seen this before, it appears that one is from the conversion car and one is original. But I am wondering why there is two plates?

I'm pretty sure the aero top never came out manual ,only auto from the factory,as for two build plates, there should only be 1 build and 1 compliance plate

correct, aero-tops only came in autos in the jza80 supra, xA70s came in manual aero aswell as aero auto _________________

One plate is 2jzgte and one is 2jzge, different color and trim combo on each plate. It definitely started life as an n/a as that build plates matches color and trim of car

Yeah seller reckons he has had cars with two plates before which makes me suspicious. I spoke to the mod plated people and they had never seen it before or heard of it. They said it should only have one. It's got wa rego, not sure if they do anything differently over there
0004116, wow....must b a 93 or 94 supra the engine came from then! very interesting, the plate looks like its been there for a while! _________________

Yep sitting side by side and then the green plate next to both. I just don't know why you would go to the trouble of putting the other one on. I spoke to qld transport and they said because there is two plates they would have to give the vehicle a supplementary vin number to register it. Said it should be able to be registered as it's been registered before, just need all the reg I papers. Next step is to call wa transport to see if there is some state requirement over there to put the plate of a conversion on, but wouldn't think so. It's very interesting anyway

Yeah I think taking it off would be easiest, unless it got given a supplementary vin with its current rego. I just can't see any reasonTanya someone add the second plate
