The last thread I could find on insurance is 3-4 years old. Am wondering who everyone is currently with and how much they are paying.
I am with Shannons and paying $104 a month, but with the last debacle of a claim with them am thinking of changing. AM going to try lumney special vehicles for a quote but keen to see who else everyone is with and what they pay.
depends on agreed value too, i think most of us are with justcar, who are shit cunts IMO, when i first got my aristo i was 18, on P plates, no power/car restrictions in WA (moved to syd couple years back) was paying 2500 ish, that was full comp with my ad-just all the way up, which increases your excess, but decreases your premium, that was, 13.5k agreed value,
now as a 24 yo, i am paying something like 800 a year, but agreed value is sum bullshit like 7...once i move back to WA, should be later this year/early next year, ill update it abit and put the agreed value back up to like 12-15k or sumthin, pumped a bit of money into this thing in recent times.
I am not sure who else bar shannons/justcar will insure these things due to them being an import. maybe it was cause i was/am still under 25. _________________
I have been doing up quotes myself for when I eventually get my aristo. I'm in QLD and 26. NRMA have been the only ones besides Just Car I found that will insure them but anything before 96 has a max agreed value of about 5k. 96 on is 7k plus. Shannons are a pain in the butt with too many restrictions. Just Car is about the only one who will insure them for what they are worth but they are also pains in the butt.
Rereading your post $105 is actually pretty good. I was paying just over $80 on my HSV VS Clubsport for $8600 agreed value. So yeah that $105 is more then likely because of the higher agreed value.
I'm with Shannons, and have my Aristo and Harley Davidson insured with them under the one policy premium for a total of $118.00 per month.
When I first added my Aristo to the policy, it was relatively stock and informed them about the exhaust, FMIC and FCD. The bloke on the phone had a Chaser so it was an easy process. This was insured at an agreed value of $9000.00.
Recently as per my build thread, I've gone a single turbo conversion. I called Shannon's and asked to have my agreed value pushed up. Now my mother is an insurance broker so i've learned an odd trick or two. At first they agreed to go up to $12,500, but I managed to get them to insure it at $13,500. This at least covers the cost of the parts like the turbo, manifold, wastegate and some fittings.
With the Aristo and Harley combined, this only upped my monthly premium from $99.00 when it was agreed at $9000 with the Harley included, to 118.00 for a $4,500 increase in agreed value on the Aristo with the Harley included.

spoke to lumney special vehicles and they will only go to $12 for agreed value and the premium drops about $120 a year for monthy or 240 for upfront payment
if I take a 1000 excess I can save almost $400 a year with upfront payment
I am not quite sure how I got such a good agreed value with shannons. Next one to try is NRMA as I have heard some people have managed to insure through them
