Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can help me source some interior LED lights for the Aristo. I've replaced the door lights but still need to do the front footwells and rear passenger head-height lights.

The text on the rear passenger head-height bulbs read 'TS A12V3.4WK' and are around 28x8mm. So far I've only come across 31mm LED replacements - can they be squeezed into the socket?

I've sourced LED door lights from Autobarn but they don't stock the required LEDs for the rest of the interior.

Thanks

Have a look here: http://www.ledshoponline.com/automotive_leds.htm
The LEDs under the heading: 'G4 & Festoon LED cabin lights (also navigation lights, indicator lights)' look like the only LEDs that have a chance of fitting the sockets in the rear head-height interior lights.

The smallest on that page is 41x10mm and I've measured up the current globe at 28x8mm

I'm here to help!

Man I have been a busy boy lately and I haven't been looking at the site much. Sorry.

Now that the car has been in pieces for so long, (battery dis-connected etc) I can't actually remember exactly what I did but here goes.

I, like you Midge, replaced the door lights with LED's from Autobarn. I think you'll find that they are T10's. You will need four of them obviously, one for each door. I think it is a T10 I used for the boot as well, however, be carefull when replacing any of these lights that most LED's emitt a very directional beam of light even when using the frosted plastic. If possible, try to get the ones that are advertisted to spread out.

The glovebox and I think the underdash ones are T5's that are also available through Autobarn. These ones are tiny in size compared to the T10's so the brighter the better and the less directional the better. The easiest thing is to pull them out and take the old ones with you into the shop. So long as the contact section fits, you should be fine. If you have time, fit them in the carpark. If they don't fit, swap them over. Most of the Autobarn guys are usually pretty good and if you have a chat with them they might even come out to see the 'risto!

The festoon type ones are simply a case of measuring the globes and getting simlar ones. I have had trouble though sourcing the replacement main interior light. But I haven't tried that hard yet.

Even though this guy does not sell the dash lights for the Aristo anymore, you may find some of the other ones he sells suit your needs.

I hope this helps.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

This is the one that I used for the back!!!!!!!!!

Just went outside to the car. My memory is coming back! Smile

......and yes they are 31mm and yes they fit!

Oh, be careful when pulling the old ones out! I broke the clips on both sides so don't be surpised if you find yourself gaffa taping the units back in.

I've replaced everything except the main interior light at the front. I'm having trouble removing it as i'm worried about cracking the lens. Any tips?

That came out fine on mine. I was just used a stubby screwdriver and my fingers gently if I recall correctly?

WTF? Here's two pages of LED dash kits, climate kits, and LED's for map lights, centre room light, rear room lights, door lights, footwell lights & boot lights.

Dash & Climate you can buy the led's locally probably for cheaper, but the rest come up pre-made easy as pie from Japan.

I am in the process myself of converting to LED here a list of what I've done so far
4x T10 (one each door)I think the boot needs one too but havn't done it yet
2x 31mm festoon (rear c piller lights)
1x 36mm festoon (interior light) I have the sunroof though others are different, could be BA9S
2x BA9s flank (front map lights)
1x 31mm vanity/fuse (for the vanity mirror)
3x T5 (glovebox one and two for footwells)
9x T6.5 or T5 (behind instrument cluster) don't skimp on these though I bought some cheap ones and it looked worse then with the normal lights so I got some better ones.
2x T5 (gear selector) I did need a T5 twist in holder though, also you will need to remove the green plastic strip
I haven't done the climate controll yet but a mate tells me there are 8 T5 in behind there that need holders
I will try this later this week and let you know
I also did
2x T10 for the no. plate lights
I bought everything of ebay pretty easy to find really but does take some time getting here
as most came from China/Hong Kong

The replacement bulbs you get from ebay, for things like Map, door, footwell lights etc, are they one replacement bulb, or are they clusters like the Japs do?

Cool that explains why the Jap kits are more expensive, but throw out a heap more light.

If anybody is interested, I put a link to Aristo LED's on Import Monster in a previous post.
