Hey Guys,

Long time reader and pretty much my first post...

I am looking to join the Aristo familly soon and was wondering if anyone had completed the JZS161 Conversion on JZS147???

Whats involved?

Cheers,

Robbie

seriously, why bother. Id buy a 161, or a 147 and leave them as is.

Straight up you'd need Bonnet, Front bar, Lights, Guards etc...

Dimensions:

161 = > (LxWxH), mm 4805 x 1800 x 1435
147 = > (LxWxH), mm 4920 x 1795 x 1420

As you can see, plenty of difference in length and width. Not to mention the bonnet of the 161 is likely smaller and more narrow than the 147.

The reason no one has done the conversion is simple... no one has the time or money or could be bothered ruining either cars for the sake of looking different.

Ben

PS - The only toyota i know that you can swap panels around is the JZA70 Supra and the MZA70 Soarer, commonly known as the soapra.

There was a thread on the US club lexus forum, showed the pictures of the completed conversion, and I think also what had to be done, I know a lot of cutting and welding... I still prefer the look of the 147 the way it is

id rather try do an interior swap. the 161 interior is way nicer than the 147, but probably has buckley's chance of fitting well.

Here's one from a company in Japan.. I don't know if anyone in the USA or AU has purchased it yet.

I found this one on bodykitforums.com

http://www.bodykitforums.com/photoplog/file.php?n=571&w=o

It's a scan of the wide body conversion that also changes the front end, at first I didn't even know it was a 147.

hell yea, that looks the SH*T thats like the one i saw here as a pace car for a drift day.. im guessing its a bit of cutting and welding on the guards, posibly bonnet, and who knows what to get the lights to mount up... still, if your gonna go to that sorta hassle, i still reckon put a jza80 front on an aristo. or an LS430 front (now theres a big price tag for ya).

I think supra might be too long, but actually you could probably put the 07 GS front on the older 147, because vertex makes a conversion kit for the 98-05->06+ look
