Got the Rims/tyres late today and just finished putting them on, pics tomorrow....

Question for you all, the package was supposed to come with Nankang NS2's, but arrived with Kumho Ecsta SPT's.

Win/Lose for me?

Jay.

Heres the pics....

Very happy I didn't go for 18's, this thing eats anything that's put in the guards. Nothing against 18's for those that have them, I was just after a pretty specific look.

Coilovers aren't as necessary as I thought, still looking at them but as I am lowered a bit already doesn't look too stupid.

Jay.

Im on Kumho SPT's on the front. I quite like them... just enough grip and nice n quiet smooth ride.
Definately a win over the Nankangs.
fwiw, I paid more like $300 for them, theyre not a cheap tyre in large sizes. Maybe 17s would be 250ish.?

Jay, those rims seriously look swallowed on your car... i too can't believe theyre 19s!!
I think you need to drop it another inch or so to fill out the guards more >_<

Yeah I will be going lower, the more I look at it the more I want adj coilovers.

Would you believe I took it for a 2 minute drive this morning to settle the springs after having it jacked up, and in that short drive, I picked up a rivet in the back left tyre Mad Didn't go all the way through but f%#k me was not happy.

Jay (in the market for decent coilovers)

Jay they look the goods as definetly suits your car.

I know you dont want to hear this but definetly requires some
coilovers to give it more presence and nullify the shopping trolley look Razz

Score for the tyres !

yes - they look familiar..
however, the TRD wing would be the ONLY wing i would consider putting onto the Supra, after the stock on of course...
And this is coming from a 'wingless' Supra.. so i guess it means a bit! lol

Not being a wet blanket or anything but with the sizes of rims these cars can accept, has it occurred to anyone that the limit is getting pushed? dont get me wrong i love the dished hunkered down lowered look of these Aristo's but i remember back in the old days ,when fat rims were all the rage except for those who took it too far. they apparently managed to snap the rear axles or shear the lug nuts off under load. does the fact the Aristo has independent rear suspension offset this fact or can u simply go dangerously too big? i know the usual excuses which to some degree may be plausible by the police such as too wide that they rub the guards and that they protrude beyond the wheel arch and can turn up dust and dirt or in fact shred under cornering. the axle/spline shaft shearing dawn to anyone?

just curious...
