I haven't tried yet but I wanted any advice in advance before I start ripping into the things, I'll need to get quotes from a few metal finishers/platers too. I might swing past one on the way home from work tonight so they can have a look, I'll let you know if I get an estimate.

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1997_TOYOTA_ARISTO_JZS147-BEPVZ_7503.html

Looks like the clips we need are...

75395G (middle pillar, centre)
75396 (middle pillar, lower)

98249-84006 (under windows front & rear)
90179-04017 (above window - front)
90168-40042 (above window - rear)
90179-04017 (behind/above rear window)
90901-89002/3 (behind rear window two types 6&2??)

I'll have to have a closer look at mine to see exactly which ones are broken. If anyone else in Adelaide needs some let me know, I'll get prices from Toyota down at Noarlunga, Castle Hill and NZ.

OK just got quote from A Class Metal Finishers at Lonsdale - cost for all 4 window trims is approx. $850 inc. tax. This is a worst-case, approxmiate scenario, in other words, if it doesn't take them as long it doesn't cost as much, and if it takes longer then it's their loss. They do extremely good quality work.

The cost includes stripping, prep, copper plating, then sanding, then chrome plating, then polishing to a mirror finish. If you strip your own you may save a few bucks but I'll let them do mine if I go ahead with this soonish.

They also do wheels, prices from $120 to $200 per wheel depending on design and work required. Coloured chromes, satin finishes etc etc. Time to look for some cheapies on the monster!

Okay I just sent an email to Toyota here in Adelaide (CMI, probably useless) and Castle Hill for prices on these clips. Anyone got an email address for that good dealer in NZ?

Oh, and has anyone found a how-to on removing the damn things yet? I'm apprehensive about breaking my remaining clips, I don't want to be driving around with no window trims if it's raining, while I wait for more clips to arrive. I'll be without trims while they're getting chromed anyway though I suppose...

CMI got back to me already - speedy reply for a Friday arvo!

75395G (middle pillar, centre) 75395-30280 Clip $18.80ea
75396 (middle pillar, lower) 75396-30270 Clip $18.80ea

98249-84006 (under windows front & rear) Screw 93249-84006 $1.30ea
90179-04017 (above window - front) Nut 90179-04017 .80c ea
90168-40042 (above window - rear) Screw 90168-40042 $1.25ea
90179-04017 (behind/above rear window) Nut – same part as above
90901-89002/3 (behind rear window two types 6&2??) 90901-89002 Clip $4.45ea 90901-89003 Clip $4.45ea

The last 2 clips are different but I have to contact Toyota to translate the Japanese characters. The 6 and 2 are the quantity per vehicle so 6 would mean 3 per side and 2 would mean 1 per side.

Also asked about air filter price - cheaper to buy the Greddy from Nengun!

Also after a price for the standard Panel Air Filter to suit JZS147 Aristo. Air filter 17801-50020 $100.85 (assuming this is for 2JZGTE)

Most parts will be ex japan, approx 3 weeks possibly 4 weeks to order. We also require pre payment as all parts from japan are non returnable.
