I've heard these are problematic,
i've avoided opening my widow frequently to avoid the hassles.
its hard not being able to shout abuse out the window every 5mins.
Rant
if it can now be fixed on the cheap, i wont worry about breakage.
Very Happy
Incidently,
what actually breaks on the window regs?
(or is that trade secret?) Confused

From what I've seen the cable type regulators in any cars just aren't as durable as the old 'scissor-type' arrangement you used to get in the 80's. All sorts of things go wrong with them, cables slip off the guide wheel as it wears down and get tangled, cable guides break, gears strip etc. A lof of the cable type ones don't have any sort of switch to tell them when the window is up fully so if people lean on the switches it can do them some damage etc etc. They're also a pain in the ass to install sometimes (crimping cable clamps on inside a door panel always sucks).
I've been driving around the 929 with both back windows about an inch down for the last year and a half Rant damn frameless windows so I can't tape them up either! If my seats were cloth instead of leather they'd be soooo mouldy and soaked through by now.

Saying that, I hope the series 2 risto ones are better Very Happy guess I'll find out a few months after mine lands if they're still working.

Does someone have a guide for how to get these buggers out? I have a replacement ready to go, all the bolts are undone but i cant seem to 'pop' the 2 bolts holding it in out, well not without looking like ill have to break the glass.

If anyone can help ASAP that would be great.
