My bonnet struts are starting to die. Prbably cos I keep looking at my sexy 2JZ on almost a daily basis!
Has anyone replaced them? Is there an alternative to buying brand new Genuine replacements? Before anyone says it.......no I don't want to use a broomstick!

Dont they regas them at compliance Chris ? Mine cost for front and rear $80 allup.
If you get really stuck another alternative is the plethora of Aristo front and half cuts going around.
Yes they were working fine up until recently, so I guess they didn't worry about them at complience. I guess I'll look a the half-cut avenue as per usual, but from experience, the import places charge a bucket load for Aristo parts. The best way is to contact blokes that have already bought the halfcut and are selling all the leftovers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't most half cuts come in minus the bonnet?

It is likely getting them regassed will be the most cost effective way to ge them going again. Unless of course the seals or something else is stuffed.
don't know were abouts your from but there are plenty of places in brisbane that do them. Look into a place that fixes suspension they also fix the struts _________________

Please don't take this the wrong way; but if you look at my details on the left you can see I am from Melbourne. You haven't got your details there.
Thanks for your response, I might give that a go. I also have seen a pair on the Japanese Autions but by the time I get them here I might as well have got them fixed perhaps.
My boot ones are completely gone, my bonnet ones are ok but on the way out, I haven't used anybody before but getting them 'recharged' is certainly the way to go, cheaper than buying new units.

Have had no problems with re-gassed struts. Had all done on the Aristo and previously the boot ones on the Soarer. Only problem is the Boot on the Aristo is over done - good for launching cats into the dog yard - but a bit hard to close with a box of stubbies in one arm.
