just woundering what people have paid for a respray for the aristo or got quoted as just got a quote for about 5500 for a respray and fix up a chip on the body kit and finish cutting the original hole out for the exhaust on the body kit.
unfortunatly its alot cheaper when you know people, 5500 sounds like a good price because for that kinda money if there is any issues ANY issues , you have a fallback. just make sure you trust the people because a dodgy paintjob is never fun
cheapest isnt always the best ... i had a respay on my Z was fantastic untill i found he hadnt done the engine bay, or taken out any of the seals, wiper jets, badges ect ... just taped them off
was very very upset ... but what could i expect for $1500 haha

5.5k RRP for a full respray sounds reasonable assuming you dont want special colours/effects. A closed door job could be more around the 2k mark.
Ive just done the prep work on my aristo, scuffing stuff back and it took me 4 hours ish to do on my own, including de-badging and removing bumpers etc, and i can remove the bumpers quickly the amount of times ive taken them on and off.
To me unless you want to change the colour signficantly, a closed door job without removing windows etc should be fine. Ill let you know, im doing mine this weekend.
just trying to work mine out....
about $500 paint & materials
$100 for spray booth hire
$250 for final sand & polish - couldnt be arsed doing it myself
I was originally quoted about $4500 to get it done professionally.
ok just curious as have a paint booth at work what is involved in a respray only the out side and the paint is pearl white the same that is on there now and how hard would it be?

Are you going to do it yourself? If you're not a painter i dont suggest you try it, get someone who knows what they're doing to do it.
You will need to scuff the whole car, take the bars off, pulls all the rubber back etc and get rid of all the shine from the panels. Then you will need to wash it, blow all the dust off, and spot prime all the areas that need it IE repairs, dints etc. You may also want to fill the little dints and stone chip marks instead of priming them, it's quicker.
Then you should seal it with a sealer, basecoat and clearcoat. Leave for 24 hours before putting it all back together.
Be warned, it's about 8-10 hours of work including repairs if you know what you're doing. If you dont want to fix up the little stone chips (you really should) you could knock it over in half a day if you really push it, but it will be a shit job.
ok spook to a couple of places about them painting the car and there saying it will be hard to match the paint. I have a bottle of touch up paint from when i got my front quarter panel fixedearlyer this year can they just duplicate that and get the same match so they dont have to try blend it in again?
Also what is the pearl white paint exactly some one told me it is 3 parts so i was thinking
1.the white base, 2. Pearl and 3. Clear or is it just pearl then clear
