the aristo obviously weighs alot, it makes alot of power as is definitly enough to please but is it possible to strip some weight without going over board and wrecking the luxury of the car? can u remove some of the sound deadening without making it a headache to drive etc.

Gah, they are really NOT that heavy!
Everyone carries on about how heavy the Supra, Soarer and Aristo are - but they're not, they're about the same as GTR! If not less, depending on the spec of your car. Certainly a heap less than the big aussie sedans!
There's a fair bit of sound deadning behind the backseat where the fuel tank is located and along the boot area aswell as have completely gutted mine after my sub install as found alot of Jap coin in the process.
'Air Puri' a piece of cake to remove as would have to be the most useless craptraption on a Aristo ! Had mine weighed at rego and was 1605kgs. _________________

Its wanky and totally useless in Australia as most Aristo's you'll find the OEM sub is cactus and if you wish to get a direct replacement for the OEM sub the 'air puri' unfortunately has to go
Luckily in OZ our air is alot better then Japans as was a good excuse for myself to pull mine out as i hate the thing with a passion !
Here's a couple of pics of the 'craptraption'

just wondering if its worthwhile getting off my lazy ass and remvoing it
Probally 5kgs for the air puri device. Ive taken numerous pics on the removal procedure as the back seats and parcel shelf have to be removed to access it. _________________

is it possible to find a replacement for the oem sub that is lighter or very similar weight? doesnt have to be an awesome sub jsut something a bit newer, which obviously makes it a bit better. id go for fibre glass guards and hood etc if they looked exactly the same cause i dont wanna ruine the looks, maybe a slight flare on the guards though. not on the aristo but ive heard of fibre glasses boot lids aswell cause there heavy little shits.

Generally speaking, the better quality the speaker, the heavier it is. Carbon fibre cones are for stiffness, not for weight saving
The factory sub is about as lightweight as you'll get, stamped basket, paper pulp cone and weeny little magnets!
