I've seen a couple of the aristo's on here have the lexus badging on the front and rear and was wondering do you have to buy the full grill or does the front badge just pop out of the aristo grill and then replace with (L) ?

also on the rear on the booot are the badges pinned in or just glued ?

thanks

What Aaron is selling is the entire grill, rear garnish, etc, for example rear garnish has the badge behind the clear plastic. You can approach any Lexus dealership and order just the badges only if you like.

you can remove it by carefully pushing it off from the inside, ie: with the bonnet up. be carefull though otherwise you will brake the legs on it.
Make sure you order one for your specific series as the grill spacing in different between the series one and two models.

I pulled the rear of my Aristo to bits last night (had the car 9 hours, so well and truly ready to pull it apart Smile to see how easy the middle "ARISTO" badge comes out. Sorry to report I was beaten. It appears that the clear acrylic is bonded with some gunk to the main plastic body and any attempt at removal will likely result in breakage.

So, that means the whole rear section containing the aristo badge needs to be replaced. But even that does not suit my needs, as all I want is to remove the aristo name and leave it blank. I don't really want the GS300 badge there instead.

Yeah, not happy, but willing to perform surgery on another rear aristo if I can get hold of one. I'll be braver operating on one that is a spare rather than the one on my car. I would use a mototool with a cutting blade to cut the acrylic section out then remove the plastic aristo badge and silicone the whole thing back together.

The Toyota badge on the back of mine is a cheap plastic thing with three little locator pins on it. I have one of those weird little duck-tail spoiler thingys on the back that im getting used to now. So im not sure if aristos with no spoiler have a metal badge attached differently or not.

My rear toyota badge came off ok with a bit of care. It was attached with black double-sided tape and I used orange oil (sparingly) to remove the adhesive that remained after its removal. I have badges coming from the UK (original part metal from IS200 lexus) but not sure if can use on front grill due to special fit required.

My front badge is slotted and fixed from the back with three screws. Like the other threads say, it has to be the right spacing to fit, but I like a challenge.....Lexus of Perth want $76 for a badge. I got one for A$10 from the UK (ebay) and will probably spend $400 of my own labour to make it fit. Smile

Yeah, bit sloppy. I say that guy went for the cheap option instead of getting the badges that fit properly...
