i have a set of ser 1 and ser 2 tail lights.the ser 1 taillight wireharness has it for 3 bulbs and ser 2 they went to 2 bulbs.you know if u stick ser 2 lights on a ser1 car u get the tail light out light on the cluster.i like the look of the ser 2,if i used a heat guy and seperated the lens from the black back, can i stick the ser 2 lens on the ser 1 black housing.so i can keep using the 3 bulb harness and have the look of the ser 2 lens??

You could just snip a light out each side?

I did the reverse, and soldered 2 extra lights in to put S1 lights on an S2.

just snip and solder a resistor in the wires to mimic a light globe Smile

Agreed
a simple calculation can determine what resistance/wattage.

if 5 watts, will draw approx. .36 Amps.

R=V/I, R=14/0.36

R=40 ohms. and at least 5 watts,

there would be a tolerance with this,
so to be safe (and put less load on your 5w resistor) i would select a 60 ohm'r)

you may have to pioneer a way to make these work,
maybe break the existing bulbs, solder the 2 ends of the resistor onto the 2 (internal)
globe ends.
also, the resistors can get rather warm, connect one to your battery, wait a few minutes.
then test the temperature (carefully Very Happy ).

Ok im confused now

so the series 1 taillights have power going to 2 globes on the outer set of lights therefore you need to put a resistor in when going to series 2 lights which only have 1 set of globes on the outer taillights?

NOW
I have a series 2, I just bought some series 1 taillights
Will i need to change anything for them to work (the series 1 lights)?
Will there be enough power to work the 2 globes on the outer set of tailights?

Cheers
Chris
