Hey does anybody know how to disable the automatic door lock in the aristo, or at least make it unlock the doors when the ignition is switched off.

Read up the wiring diagrams.. It's bound to be an easy 'fix' i think.
That said, I love it =p

One day sitting at the lights somebody jumped in the passenger seat of my GTO and demanded a lift. So I have no problems with my Soarer & Aristo locking the doors.

Its more for the Americans really.

I reckon you could probably hook that up if you really wanted to. May be an effort but, probably just much easier to get in the habit of hitting unlock for the passengers!

I would imagine places like jaycar would have it.. what you'll need is a module that has simply a lil input wire and an output wire that merely pulses the output upon the input switching on.
Then you hook the input to the parkbrake line (where your turbotimer is wired to i think), and plug the output into where your alarm system triggers your door unlocking.
Thus when you put it into park, the line will go active, and the unit will fire a pulse to the door unlocking module.

This is somethin i plan to do when i can be assed :p

Their is a door lock computer in the drivers kick panel. I would assume it controls the anti-hijacking function. Remove computer, remove the feature, though it will almost certainly remove central locking feature as well, lol

Foot on the break plus pressing the door unlock button unlocks all doors.

my gf lives in frankston and a few years back a guy was pulled from his car in that area and hurt quite badly with acid.

ill keep the auto door lock working and laugh as people try and get out.

if you get in the habit of hitting the unlock switch next to the window controls when you open the door its an easier fix .

What I find interesting is that the drivers door has an extra link that goes from the internal door opening leaver to the lock.

So when your drivers door is locked, and you pull on the leaver, the door unlocks, Soarers do this too.

My guess is that if you can work out how that works (extra link I'd guess) I'd bet the other internal door levers have a spot for it to go even.

Then you have the best of both worlds. The doors lock so people can't get in from outside when they wish to steal your car, a lift or are in an acid pouring mood, but your passengers can still get out Smile

Thommo had his interior door trims off the other day, are they still off Thommo?

Just need to a) work out how its being done on drivers door and b) see if it can be replicated on other doors
