Me testing the "Does pulling the TRC fuse really remove the 180 speed cut on the Jap spec 2JZGTE" theory.

I think it's around 12seconds. I hope to throw it down the 1/4 soon.

Current mods are: Front mounted intercooler
Aftermarket Exhaust, No cats! Only 2 mufflers in parallel. Boosting 16psi. Profec B SpecII. GReddy BCC.

The 3" pipe starts after the 1st (hollow)cat.

I had "gutted" both of the cats soon after I bought it. I did this because I thought the cats would be well expired/clogged buy then and I didn't want to make the car any louder than stock. It actually made the change from one turbo to both smoother and improved the fuel economy.

Later when I did the 'zorst I wanted to leave the 1st section stock so that I didn't run into any overboosting problems, and the fact that the hollow cat acts as a resonator helped as well.

The car runs 16psi with no boost controller so I'm happy I decided to leave that section alone.

The car sounds mint.
It runs the perfect boost I want.
And it's just quiet enough so that I don't get hassled by the cops.

I've already gutted the first cat when I had it off for the engine change. I plan to get a new 3" pipe from that to a new 3" cat which will connect to my 3" single system. This pipe is currently a dodgy peice of bent and rusted tube with very bad welding.

I'm hoping the 2.5" flanges on the first cat will be enough to keep boost in check. I had thought of removing the second cat all together but the fines for this are not worth it.

I start the new job tuesday, so i might be able to offer the downpipe to members at a discounted price. (if theres hadnt already been changed from stock during compliance.

Not a very good pic, but it gives you the idea: http://www.evidenceonline.com.au/getdata.php?id=235

Cost would be around the $100 mark plus postage.

I would have paid that too, it took me for ever to gut that first cat. I'll only replace it now when I go single with a custom 3/3.5" pipe from the back of the turbo down to the cat.

Impressive speed.

It seems that to achieve that it took little modding and little $, correct me if I'm wrong.
I priced Greddy BCC at about ~$60 and PRofec B Spec II at $344

How much was the aftermarket exhaust?

Exhaust price will vary. I'm in NZ so my prices will be different.

Mabey $600(au) for a 2nd hand Exhaust?
