That's an older picture, but you can't go past black. It still depends on the colour you are going to paint the spark plug cover.

Cheers,

Chris

Yea, cant go past black, especially with the polished n paint strut brace!!

How bout that standard lame green on the SP covers??

how'd you go about paint the SP cover? sand back, or just straight over the top??

are those cam covers painted in Wrinkle paint, or just gloss/matte black?

Sorry for the late reply!

I just sanded the cover back as you said, used plastic undercoat and then auto paint and the clear coat. A fair bit of work. All from a spray can. Still not perfect, but not bad for an amatuer.

Mat black on the covers. Next timeI would go gloss I think???

yep by hand with a fine paint brush. BLOODY HELL it was hard to do. MANY, MANY, attempts! If you look closely it's a bit average. But pretty happy with it. Unless you are an artist, I wouldn't recommend it. Next time I would get an artist friend to do it for me!!!!!!!!!

Or you could take it to an old school signwriter who knows how to use a brush and mahl stick. I can do it my boss is extremely good at it. I do heaps of old Holden and ford hubcaps that have the painted centres. Just my 2cents and an artist is just as good to go to aswell.
