Clay: This is to remove the paint 'contaminants' that sit on the surface of the clear coat. This is 'rail dust', overspray, Tree sap, Tarmac, and concrete. Once completed this will leave the paint feeling 'silky' and have all the contaminants removed. This makes the paint easy to work with for every other step and stops you from binding these contaminants into the paint if you are going to 'cut' it.
Acid wash: This removes all the 'hard water' marks off the surface of your paint and will further remove alot of the stuff left there by the clay bar. This is only to be done if you really know what your doing. Once completed the 'clear coat' will be taken back to as close to original form as possible.
Cut: This is a harsh cream applied with an orbital buffer. What this will do is 'cut' the very top layer off your car, removing with it all the light scratches, crows feet, cob webbing, and hazing. Once this is done the paint will be totally unprotected. This step is CRUCIAL to restoring the paint condition in a car, if these three steps are completed the car will be in the VERY BEST form to be able to get her to shinnneee!
Wax: Waxing the car restores the clear coat and places a further artificial coating to the paint to protect it from UV rays, light scratching, hazing, cob webbing, crows feet and paint contaminants.
Repeat this step at least two times for best result.
Polish: This is the final step in having a nice looking paint job. It involves (usually by hand) applying a coat of polish that you allow to dry to a 'crusty' finish before buffing off. This is another protective layer who's main purpose is to make the paint 'SHINE' _________________
