yeah, that and i didnt actually plant it through the gear change/s. I believe in preserving the life of my auto, Razz hahahaha

If i set-up a decent camera mount i'll be able to manually shift gears and it would be heaps quicker. Last night i had to juggle the camera when trying to countersteer, lol... not fun.

Yet when I went through they were upfront with it and told me straight out they needed to pull the front one and replace it with no pipe, and replaced the rear one with a nice one.
I would give them a call and say they owe you a pipe.. they should give you one.

It wasn't meant to be a bad word as such, just stating what mine had.

In his defence, I didn't buy the car as a good off the yard version but (as most on here would know), a car with issues and as such, it was a "as is where is" contract.

Still 100% happy with the purchase.

Dunno, wastes a whole 500 RPM.

Nope, auto ECU controls shift points so no change. With MINES you get another 500 rpm to play with, so if you just leave the car in D, your wasting 1000RPM, so holding the gears is a must when trying to go fast Smile Bring on the manual!

I'd like mine to shift at 7000rpm. Very Happy

to be honest, going all the way to redline is a waste in these cars... torque is the 2J's right hand, so going all the way to redline will only cause the hand to get very angry and likely to punch you in the face if you do it too much.

hahahaha, i am a funny man ! NOT

That would only be if the torque dropped off in your car though.

i would think you would have to have a bloody nice set-up if the peak torque is 7000rpm same as the limiter...

ok, tried again, lol....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNhnkEvt0tY

This time it was in sequential mode Smile , traction off Smile and a full tank of juice Nervous

Slowing the video down it seems i did a 0-100 in around 5.5seconds. Definately better than last night as i used the throttle to control traction. I increased the shift point from 1st to 2nd up to 6,500rpm

Well now Im happy............................until the fuel runs out so I can try again Razz

PS - that shell racing stuff is awesome! threw $20 worth in when the tank was near empty and it cleaned my injectors out good and proper! no more missing Smile

My bad!
I was under the impression the ECU shifted it 500rpm lower than it should for some reason. And changes like the Mines ECU puts it up.

Edit: Scratch that... I think i get it now.. the auto ECU handles the shifting.. the mines just gives you fuelmaps for up to 7k if you were to keep it in the gear up to then... kinda get it.

lol, sorry but nope again...

The auto ECU handles shifting. The mines ecu handles the redline. So if the Mines ecu and the auto ecu say to each other, should we change hears now, and the answer is yes, according to load, power and throttle position, etc... then the auto ecu changes the gear. You almost go it right, but the thing is, Mines does not touch fueling, they only touch timing. Which is why they state on their site that you might get ping if your timing isnt set-up properly for the type of fuel you run, ie: 100RON over there compared to our 98RON.

SO, what is 'redline' other than the red line on your tacho?

I'm used to manuals where we don't give a toss about it.

Ahh.. ok.

I've not heard anyone call a rev limiter "redline" before...

So the mines just adjusts timing, not fueling? It increases rev limit by 500rpm, increases boost cut from around 14 to around 17(?) and removes speed cut.
Am i on the ball?

almost there. Smile

It removes the boost/fuel cut all together AFAIK. They just set the timing to compensate for 14psi, or whatever the client wants.
