Posted: Sat Mar 20, 2010 4:25 pm Post subject: Engine Cover colour ideas!?!?!
heyas,
If you check out my members ride thread you'll see i have painted my engine cover gold, turned out like sh#t(coz i painted it) and i am getting re-done by a mate who owns paint n panel shop, NOW, the only thing i know concretely is that i want the raised lettering in black, since its too hard to do them any other colour!
i want some ideas as to colour schemes and such, heres a pic of wat i wanted when i painted it gold!
i like the idea of red writing silver emblem, but its too hard to do, so am sorta turning away from that, but that was the gold i wanted, but as said i foobared it!
wat do you think would look good on a black aristo with pretty much stock looking engine bay?
thanxs

That looks awesome Christodav.
To do the toyota symbol is easy. You get a knife, cut the double sided tape out from under it, then glue it back on when your done. _________________1990 Mazda 929

hey guys, there are 2 types of covers. The S1 with the very raised 'T' and the s2 with a less raised and intergrated lettering etc Like mine.
I just hand painted mine black with a fine paint brush. Still not perfect close up, but not bad.

Sorry, didn't realise some were molded and not a badge. Mine is a s1 cover, and could just lever it off with a screw driver. _________________1990 Mazda 929

Thanks guys! Many hours of hard work there, I can tell you!
That one is a little old. This is the most recent picture I can find.
Since then, I now have the GFB BOV, and big F off hose clamps.
Enjoy
Chris
